Well, what would the world be like without words? Imagine blank websites, no books, or magazines, no poetry, or adverts. Words are vital and so important – and they’re everywhere.
Words by themselves are often meaningless. It’s how the words are combined to convey meaning, but there are an infinite number of ways to combine words.
And, words influence, evoke emotions, tell stories, promote businesses or products in a language and written in a way target audiences will understand.
Presentation is important, too. As well as clarity and accuracy, with a grasp of language and understanding of grammar rules.
Of course, copywriting and editing are different. The disciplines overlap and complement each other. And, as a copywriter and editor, I may be able to help more than you imagine.

Hello, I’m Paul Walters, a Willenhall, UK based proofreader, editor, and copywriter in the heart of the Black Country. But, offering my services to businesses and individuals in the West Midlands, and beyond …
Born in West Bromwich, I lived in Bilston for most of my life, before moving to Willenhall. I have a teenage son, a younger daughter, and a partner of many years. And, a lovely cat who often curls up on a chair next to me as I write, edit, and do what I do best.
Other interests include:
Science, space and the cosmos (some used to call me “Space man”). I’m always in awe of summer and winter solstices, how everything is interconnected, and nature.
I’m passionate about the environment in a world striving toward zero-carbon emissions, so I try to introduce futuristic green angles to my writing.
When not writing, I enjoy relaxing in my garden with my acer trees and fuchsias and listening to 80s music, and occasional rock. Artists from ABBA and Bananarama to the Foo Fighters and ZZ Top. I follow politics and am a mental health advocate.
